Breed: Chihuahua / Adoption fee is $150 / Sex: Male / Age: Approximately 5 yrs old / Weight: Approximately 8 pounds 

This little guy will make you laugh and keep you entertained with his adorable quirkiness.  Once you have won him over he will be yours forever.  Asher loves to crawl up your arm and snuggle up with you and then jump down and zoom around in delight.  Asher has definite preferences on how he likes being picked up as he suffered known & recorded abuse in the past.  Asher has had to overcome his trauma from being kicked and hit with a mans hand so he is timid and defensive with new people he meets.  He has a lot of affection and love to give to people he trusts. Asher will really need a person who understands his behavior, respect his boundaries and will let him know he is in a safe place.

Pet Angels caregivers have been working with Asher and since his arrival he is 100 times better then when he came to the rescue.  Asher is allowing new people into his circle of friends so much quicker then when he first arrived at Pet Angels.  He gets along well with the dogs here at the rescue and he is easily bribed with food and treats!

Asher would enjoy an easygoing home where life is predictable yet interesting.  He needs the opportunity to be brave and to exercise his curious mind.  Asher would do best in a home without new people coming and going.  He can still become friends with men and has became close friends with his male Pet Angels caregiver.  Asher has not been around small kids, while here at the rescue, however sometimes abused dogs are ok with children because they don't associate their trauma with a child. 

Asher has had his age appropriate vaccinations brought up to date with Rabies (4 m & older), heartworm tested (4 m & older) and/or started on prevention, basic dewormer, spayed or neutered and microchipped by 24Petwatch with free registration that also comes with 30 days of free 24Petwatch Pet Insurance
